Homeless Feed 24/04/16

Once again an amazing day feeding the homeless in Manchester. The SSO continues to go from strength to strength thanks to all the wonderful volunteers. Our thanks and gratitude to Sathveer Kaur & family for sponsoring today’s homeless feed. Here is today’s write up from Dalbir Singh, one of our dedicated and passionate volunteers.

“With today’s feed. What a great day. Despite the weather being a bit dull & rainy, the mood & atmosphere was far from this. It’s great to see the regular people coming to get fed & had plenty of people saying “thank you all & God bless” for the work we are all doing. This is an even greater motivation to keep this sewa growing from strength to strength. It was great also to see some new faces to help with the volunteering. Met 2 lovely dinner ladies who really “mucked in” & helping with handing out drinks & biscuits. Also met a lovely family who came to volunteer today, all the way from Liverpool. This is even further inspiration that not only are we making an impact on people’s lives but are getting volunteers from all communities to help mankind in this sewa. One specific example I can recall today was an individual who is a regular to get the food, knew me by name & said thanks to all of us being there to serve the food despite the weather but being great today. I said no matter what the weather, come rain or shine there will be food provided & he was really pleased. Also went to speak to the local community support police officers in Manchester who had a list of other organisations offering food at different times in the week & it was pleasing to see she had added SSO onto this list & will be spreading the word on her rounds when in Manchester. Look forward to this sewa growing from strength to strength & people from all communities & faith taking part to help human kind”

God bless all always
